We’re excited to welcome Michelle Carter as the new Regional Director for Region 2, serving students and families across Marietta City Schools and Cobb County School District. Michelle brings more than 25 years of experience across education and nonprofit settings, with a strong focus on building impactful programs, growing teams, and strengthening community partnerships.

Here’s a message from Michelle to our supporters:

I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Regional Director for Region 2 and to officially join the Communities In Schools of Georgia team. As I continue learning more about the CIS model and the impactful work happening across the state, I look forward to collaborating with and learning from each of you. I value open communication, shared problem-solving, and teamwork, and I’m excited to contribute to and build upon the strong foundation already in place as we advance CIS’s mission together.

I bring more than 25 years of experience across education and nonprofit settings, with a focus on strong programs, growing teams, collaboration, and community partnerships. I’m grateful to join an organization that aligns so closely with my passion for supporting children and families and to work alongside people whose commitment and impact are clearly felt across every community you serve.

I am a Georgia native and live in the Atlanta area with my family. I enjoy staying active, spending time with family and friends, and trying to keep up with my two teenagers!
